Brendan Burnett Tai Chi Kung Fu - 

I started exploring Martial Arts like many others with Judo Karate and Kickboxing lessons before trying a Tai Chi Class and then trying Wing Chun with then Sifu Bryant and Sifu Weatherall now BJJ Professor Weatherall, training Wing Chun, Boxing and early MMA in Somerset.

In Bournemouth and Southampton I trained with Sifu Friskney,  a 6th Degree Black Belt in Wado Karate and 4th Degree Black Sash in Wing Chun, Dave taught a realistic approach focused on his own experience,  he learnt from Masters such as Robin Gardener - William Chung Style. Samuel Kwok, Ip Chun in the UK and Moy Yat in New York,  he taught many Security Services at the time even the NYPD.

I trained with Sifu Dave in his Wing Chun and Tai Chi Club until i reached 3rd Degree Black Belt,  whilst training with him and his teacher Li Xuelong at Southampton School of Tai Chi in Yang Style and Chen Style Tai Chi. I love training with Xuelong whenever possible he is one of the most skilled instructors i could find in th UK.

I briefly trained with Sifu Packnhurst Fong Style of Wing Chun in Bournemouth, a student of his interviewed me for an article published in the Wing Chun Archive.

I trained with Wu Tan Institute Of Kung Fu and Shaolin Society Bournemouth in Weapons, and with Guru Shaun Osbourne in Tiger - Crocodile Pentjak Silat as an early member of the British Silat Organization.  

I have trained with Judo and Karate Sensie Greg Holloway now 7th Degree Wing Chun Master with Austin Goh - Lee Shing Wing Chun Brixton and Clapham London. I continue training with him whenever possible,  Dave and Greg are the best Wing Chun and Life Coaches I've ever met.

I have enjoyed some Lessons and Seminars with other Wing Chun, JKD, Thai Boxing, MMA, Catch, BJJ, Sambo Coaches and Clubs in the UK. Meeting many great Instructors such as Hataisantiwong.  Mo Teque, Phil Norman, Dan Inosanto, Matt Follian, Master Sken, Chris Crudelli, James Thompson, Vik Holti and many Others.  

I trained Shaolin Black Flag with Benny Meng and the infamous Sifu Lin in America becoming UK Representative, I learned that the Black Flag Style originates from Sifu Tio TeK Kiwe - Lo Han Kung Fu. I still train some aspects of the Style today.

Always favouring training Tai Chi with Li Xuelong , inspired, I travelled to China to visit Master Liu Yong Student of Grand Master Chen Zheng Lei, who i have also met on a UK visit,  I trained with Liu Yong in China on two for a few months and visited other Masters in Shanghia and Bejing and In the UK for several months with him over the years with his other students Sue Johnson British Chen Style College in Manchester, Ali Warmsley in Brighton and Marc Ditcher in Poole to name but a few. I also trained with Master Jesse Tsao on his visits to Somerset.  

I have taught at several Events and have been featured in Martial Arts Illustrated, I have also performed stunts on stage for musical and movie performance and done some work in Security for valuable experience

I prefer to train for fun, health and self defence, on occasion we might compete at amateur level, but if you want to seriously train for full contact fight competition or spread your wings further i would highly recommend any of the instructors i have mentioned and many more, they are great people and very knowledgeable.
